The mind is so easily persuaded by just mere words and a kind face. Psychologist thrive on this. Words can create feelings and emotions. Damn these words.

Dude, you are so wrong, but I can’t seem to erase you because the thrill of it all keeps me excited and im loving every moment of it. If you were attainable, I would have attained you. I guess eventually, you will become a good memory but till then, I will suffer knowing that I am,again attracted to the wrong person. *double sigh*
On a happier note, I realized of a project that I and a good friend could do to realize our supposed ‘purpose’ in life, or rather it is more of mine. A purpose I would call my calling in life, the reason for my existence. I think everyone is born for a reason and has something God has given him or her and maybe a few others, that wasn’t given to others. I want to educate people especially the young on the environment, on animals and hope to inculcate some compassion in them. So yes, that is the best news of the day and hopefully it works out. I’ll have to start preparing from now but hopefully ill be allowed the chance to do the project. This is just the beginning…working towards going to the CCF and Africa someday.
Alrighty…..time is 221am and I can’t sleep but I shall try to. Else ill read “It is not how good you are but how good you want to be” by Paul Arden to sleep. Fantastic book.

Define...........
It's all been like a swirling tornado going back and forth threatening to take you in its powerful embrace and dump you elsewhere where it is cold and lonely. It is like i have to keep on running away from it, afraid that it will engulf me if i lack even a second.

The weak one knows no wrong or right. Desperation drives us to do unthinkable things………
A man and women can’t be good friends? Can’t there be a purely platonic relationship between a man and a woman? I think that is pure bollocks. I think that it is completely do-able. But many people don’t seem to think so. Pantang nampak 2 unrelated opposite sexes together and they start assuming. I still remember this guy from high school who was a 50% friend and 50% enemy. Ill call him Mr MZ. There were times when we would be fighting cats and dogs. But it all changed, one day when this good friend of mine, made a silly comment that this MZ kirim salam to me. And it blew out of proportion. The whole form 3 block was buzzing with excitation that the strict prefect and the so called cool,laidback guy had something. It was hilarious, I remember being so conscious around him and in fact stopped talking to him because I did actually like him from primary school .At one point, due to the persistent rumours, I developed a crush on him. But my consciousness around him is still evident till now. A few months ago, I saw him at a subang jaya petrol station and after 6 lg years , I still found myself being shy. Hahahhahaha…..it was too funny.
So yes, rumors are disastrous. Recently, i have been experiencing another episode and this time it is at work. So, I use to go out with this buddy of mine quite often. He is a very good friend. One of those who i can talk openly with. Unfortunately, people’s mouth can’t be shut. Another colleague has started making some silly comments about this. Someone else even asked me about it. And again, I start becoming conscious and avoid being seen with the same buddy. Why? Don’t ask me. Maybe it is a Gemini withdrawal symptom or a natural defensive mechanism, which I myself am not too fond for. Unfortunately, I am not about to develop a crush on this friend because, he is a good friend and like my side kick. So, you get my point. So it makes it even more worse; when people start categorizing a good friendship as a romantic relationship. It makes it WRONG. I keep negating it, but how much more can I say to the point that I am afraid it might turn into an insult. It takes two people to make it right, 2 people to negate it….aaaahhhhh. So, yeah. Hope, I don’t lose my great buddy.
Even more recently, I received some weird, suspicious looks from people for being close to a , married guy. Gosh, there is such a thing called PLATONIC relationship. Two people can always enjoy each other’s company and not have to be attracted to each other. I wouldn’t be surprised before someone asks me how close I am to that person or starts to think that I might have something to do with a married guy. As long as one is a single female, and beyond 23, every guy she is close to is a potential future. I guess the only solution for me, is to find someone soon. And even if one was attracted to the other :P , it is still a platonic relationship, as long as it isn’t a two way signal. I wouldn’t be surprised before someone asks me how close I am to that person or starts to think that I might have something to do with a married guy. I am a damn Gemini! Every article i have ever read about a gemini relates to me. I am a gemini in every way possible. :( / :)
Why is it bad?
It's bad because i can't never make up my mind about anything. It takes me hours to decide on 2 pieces of clothing. It takes me minutes to decided what i want to eat. It takes me days to make a decision on a crucial matter. It takes me forever to decide what i want to do with my life. I keep changing my mind about my job...about people....about almost everything. I can like a person today and hate him tomorrow. Today i hate my job with a passion, then tomorrow it is ok, and the next day it is a hell hole. Hell, i can't even decide who i have a crush on. One day, it is this guy, and the next day it is another. But of course, that is the lamer side of me that doesnt come out too often. So there it is. I am an ever changing person. Not a good decision maker..and certainly not one with stable emotions either because my emotion can change from bitterly depressed to flying high among the stars. :(

Shopaholic meets
Sitting here on my favourite sofa, at the starbucks in Kuantan Berjaya Megamall drinking Mocha Praline Frappucino (trying it for the first time! = It's okay but not as good as Java Chip) and eating my all time favourite chicken pie. Thank God for Vincent Tan and Berjaya Megamall. Else, life here,in kuantan would be as dry as living on the sahara dessert.
This week hasnt been very good. First of all, i have been having loads of arguments with me madre. Her need to dominate and control me has reached a critical point. I feel claustrophobic and the need to break free. She has been calling me the past week everyday just to ask me where i am? It's always, "when are you going back home?"....goshhh.....i can't take it no more. I told her other day, as long as i am single and unmarried, she can control and monitor my every action...what happens when i am no more single?...Maybe she will call my husband and ask where i am?....LOL....Just the thought of it is hilarious.....
Oh well....this is nothing as compared to what awaits me if i get a transfer back to kl....i have only 2 options then : To find a place in town, which my dad will object to...., and 2nd to get married, lol, as if it is that easy...

What is happening to my Malaysia?
This weekend has been quite a thought stirring one. Not to mention one that brought about feelings of disappointment, frustration and curiosity. What was the culprit? : Civilization + Mindset change.
They say that along with the advancement of technology, everything changes. An upcoming town center will change the scenario of the town, but sadly never the towns people. That is exactly what is happening in the scenario of the world. While i was coming back with a colleague on Thursday morning from Kuantan, we talked about work ethics, about justice at the work place, about favouritism, about a just appraisal, about brain drain, about methods to stop brain drain etc.
At the end of it all, it left me wondering, ' when will our mindset change'? And then today, when i switch on the television, i see scenes of the protest in Malaysia being aired on Al-Jazeera. And while everyone who is on the government side, is wondering why this, i who am also on the govt side am wondering, why are the muslims causing the downfall of Islam? Do people not realize that, one by one, all the muslims countries seem to be in turmoil right now? Iraq, Afghanistan, then Iran had issues, Indonesia, Pakistan, Lebanon and the list goes on....Now , it is Malaysia. Are we implementing someone's plan? Mostly, the culprits behind all the chaos in these countries, are the Muslims themselves. I am a Muslim and i am asking, instead of supporting your own Islamic country, instead of ensuring a good education for your children, instead of working hard to make a decent and lawful living, instead of proving how beautiful a religion Islam is, why are we causing riots and chaos and giving the others a chance to see the bad side of Islam, which has never existed but made to exist by us? The beauty in the religion has been tainted by OUR behaviour, OUR actions.....God says, fight with knowledge,fight with truth....the superior ones in history have always been the ones who have invented things, the ones who have found countries, the ones who have made a stand, the ones who have ruled gloriously and conquered bravely...not those who have cowardly created riots, caused harm to others, those who have cause innocent blood to flow free but those who have used their knowledge, facts and truth to make a stand and gain respect.
Lets prove to the world , the beauty of this religion, by proving our capabilities to the world, by increasing the literacy level in our countries, by producing more graduates who can teach and lead the future generation, by stabilizing our current economy, by increasing and encouraging morality among the youth, by doing charity and showing benevolence to decrease poverty among all human beings, muslim or not, by having more diplomatic ties with other islamic countries and by supporting our fellow Islamic countries against the others (for a good course, of course).....we need to get out priorities right. If we can do these, we can be at par with other countries, if not economically, or technologically but intellectually......
I hate to see that, after years of independence, after so many talked about technological advancement, after multiple visits to the moon, that racism still exist...the colour of ones skin is still used to differentiate people and capability....that we are still claiming our nationality without truly meaning it, with no colour, education,status or even language barrier amongst us. When will we stop polluting the environment, and realize its importance? That what is gone, is forever gone....Whose earth is this anyway?

The most negative of entries
This is probably the most negative of all my entries. There i was, hoping against hope that my appeal for a transfer to KL would be granted by my current management. I go see my manager and i tell him,"I don't like my job. I want to do something else. I am losing interest and it is not good for the section." And to my satisfaction, he says,"I won't stop you. I'll bring this up during the "XXXX" meeting and let them know of your intentions. Pray that it goes well." I walk out of the room , smiling and thinking , 'Thank God my boss understands me'.
2 days ago, i receive 2 phone calls from 2 of the subsidiaries that i had applied to and they informed me that my wonderful HR rejected the offer and didnot want me to leave. It was difficult to digest but i took it as i expected it to come. Today, a little birdie tells me that it was the-above-oh-so-sweet manager who blocked my exit. Yes, the sly creep. I use to have some respect for the fellow, but now i have zilch. I would have taken it well, if he had told me himself that he could not allow me to leave and not give me all the hope and then backstab me. I hate him with all my heart.:(
I can't foresee myself being here another 2 years. I just can't. Nothing wrong with Kuantan. It is just me. A colleague who treats me well when he wants to and keeps indirectly or directly emphasizing that "i am not good enough", a boss who couldn't care less about what i want, a manager who backstabs me, "some" technicians who don't seem to treat me like a superior due to my lack of knowledge and gender......why do i need this? I DON'T. I hate my job. I hate the bureaucracy. I hate the politics and the work ethics. I hate the mindset and the subtle racism. AAAAAGGGHHHH. Am i asking for too much?
On a happier note, i have made some very good friends since i started working at ***, without who, i would have become insane here. Thank peepol! * BIG HUG*
Also, the past week has been too funny. A guy managed to make me like him in 3 freaking hours. 3 hours!!!! That is a record breaking time. Unfortunately, he has someone and i was building castles in the air. Sometimes, i wonder, do men make you swoon after them intentionally, or otherwise. I think the former. It seemed like he was trying to tell me that i was more than a normal friend by opening up to me about his entire life.....I thought i had become a good friend. And i would have liked that but instead a few days later, he ignores me. And i am wondering, why? Well, i shall leave it at that. Although, i have developed a crush on him,I am not going to throw myself over him , like "others". But i have to say, some men definitely seem like that;Attention deficit creatures.
Time to leave Starbucks and head home. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Don't Judge The Book By Its Cover
They say don’t judge a book by its cover. Read the book before you make any comments about it. Same goes to human beings. Never judge people by the way they look. You risk making enemies or hurting them. Several people have asked me if I smoke or club. At the beginning , it was just saying no. But then when the question kept resurfacing, I wondered if the image that I am portraying is really that negative. I think some people would go to the point of thinking that I might be sleeping around. Yes, literally. I mean it is entirely an individual’s right to smoke, club, take drugs or yes..err to sleep around. But don’t ask someone if they do it just because they look outgoing or modern enough to attempt it. Damn, it pisses me off. Therefore, I would like to shout on top of my lungs, that I don’t smoke, I don’t do clubbing , I don’t take drugs and I am definitely not sleeping around. And just to add,any individual has the right to do the above but I don’t. Just because one had a western education, is outgoing, curses here and there, has her nose pierced and her ears pierced several times DOES NOT mean that she smokes, clubs, does drugs or sleeps around.
Damn, it is year 2007. Don’t go around judging people and asking them right up to their faces. It shows your immaturity and backwardness. Learn about people before asking such questions.

Lost in Translation
As days pass, i'm becoming more disillusioned with my life. For one, i believe that life is too short and it shouldn't be spent doing things that you are not happy to do. Of course, there is the "You can't never get everything you want". Yet, there is such a thing called risk and sacrifices. The only question that needs to be answered is, are you willing to take the risk? Are you willing to sacrifice?
These days, my life seems to be filled doing things that i don't really want to do. I don't like my job and it is killing me.....whoaaa....there you go!!!!...i finally got it out of my chest.....And doing something i don't like day in,day out is killing me softly.....lol...dramatic. Life has become a mundane routine. Waking up at 7am to go to work is a torture. Mind you, not the waking up but the thought of going to work and facing/doing things that don;t really mean anything to me. Even things that i can learn from don't mean anything to me. More often than not, when my colleagues ask me about what i have learned, i have nothing much to say because there is just no passion/interest in what i do. I know it is sad, and believe me , i wish i can change that but i can't. I used to be a person who would give her all to anything and everything that she has been given to do. It has all changed now. This one year has changed me in many ways. I don't even try to give my 100% thesedays....as long as work is done, im done. 2 years ago, that would have been a no no...I just wish that those who need to know this , will know it. Keep me another year where i am right now, and Shahreen = No creativity + "Couldn't give a damn" + Bitter
Those who talk about perseverance and strength, i have a few things to say to you :
First of all : Strength is being able to face the truth and choosing what you really want to do in your life
2nd : Strength is about being able to stand up tp people and saying, "No, this is what i want to do"
3rd : Control your own destiny or someone else will. Jack Welch
4th : Looking at all the above and the talk on perseverance , let me say that, policies.philosophies and beliefs are subjective. Bluish Green might look blue to you and green to me. Therefore, all these talks about "being able to persevere and face big challenges indicates a good leader" are just mere words with a little conviction. Without your belief and conviction, there are just mere words. A good leader knows what he wants and works towards that. How about that?
No one can come and tell you to like or do something that you really don't have any interest in doing.
So, choose what you want to do with life. It is short.

The euphoria,
Sends fluttering butterflies along her skin
She feels light, she feels giddy, and brightness surrounds her
Even nothingness carves a smile upon her face
She feels like dancing, gliding, floating
She feels like a daffodil moving to the rhythm of the wind
In her mind, she is happy…..
She can choose not to be…

The mind is but the most powerful tool.
It can interchange between reality and fantasy

Choose happiness in moments of sadness and frustration…and you will find yourself wearing a smile even in moments of despair just like her…..

Love Is? Love Not?
The intensity of fire is unexplainable
The depth of love is immeasurable
The strength of loyalty is unfathomable
The force with which the heart holds on to another
Is above all incomprehensible
The bright flame of fire is alike the intense feeling of love
The pain is felt
With all that you have, will you be able to give….
Love…..is but a mystery
No, i haven't fallen in love yet...wrote this after listening to a cousin pour out her feelings of love for *wink *wink* to me. It's just amazing how much love a person can feel for another. I'm not embarassed to say that i have experienced a one sided love for this guy once. Never did i tell him that i liked him . But i don't regret it either because it would never have worked out anyway. Yet, this so called one sided love is nothing as compared to the love my cousin feels for *wink*wink*.
The power of emotions.....love, not lust. Feeling this much love, perhaps to some would be a great feeling but the thought of it , is sort of scary. Perhaps, someday you would, i would.....till that day arrives, i can only liken that feeling to a mere crush or maybe even lust that one can feel for the opposite sex, which i have felt and feel from time to time. After all, as long as you are single and unattached, why not, right?
Just a few days ago, i was having dinner and chatting with galfriends. And like all single girls, we were talking about what men look for in a woman. How some men can love one and marry another? How some men claim to get bored with their wife after several years of marriage? Coming from a partially conservative background, i've watched mothers who have pushed their daughters to get married by the age of 25 , just to avoid from the harsh critics of the society or just to shut the mouth of older "uncles" and "aunties" who keep asking the 25 yr old girl, "When is your turn?". I'm not sure if it is the best practice for a girl to marry a guy, despite him having all the right qualities, just in order to satisfy the society. Marriage as some people say is a gamble but, i feel that a marriage based on love, care and understanding between 2 individuals is the foundation for a great nation as most of often than not, a solid marriage produces the better individuals who form the future of as nation. Therefore, every man and woman in this day and age, needs to assure that he or she knows her spouse well and subsequently form a mutual understanding between them. Marry a person whom you feel comfortable with, one who you know would take care of you, one who you can count on , one who you can love unconditionally, one who you can have mutual understanding with, and above all, a person who can bring a smile to your face for everyday of your married life. Sounds idealistic huh? well, who said life was easy.....Almost everything is attainable, but there is a price you have to pay for it. Marriage is the same....You need to make it work.
Anyway, enough about marriage.....When the time comes, i shall know what is right or wrong or should i say who was right and who was wrong. I actually just came back from attending a wedding, so that must be the reason for the current topic. LOL....

Effects of late night thinking
Was doing my usual friendster updates. Checking out the online wedding cards that i received..the wonders of technology....simply amazing.
Effects of late night thinking :
Randomness of thoughts occurs,
Turbulence it creates in the mind,
The heart is at a conflict,
Doubt surrounds the mind,
Clarity it is seeking,
Locating a candle in pitch darkness,
The search is never ending,
There are unforeseen ups and downs,
Lucidity, it will attain
When the hand encloses upon the candle,
A faint light appears with a promise of a better vision.

I pray for this feeling of utter hopelessness to end
I pray that I find you sooner than you find me
I pray that the rough waves in my mind subside
I pray that I always know my next step
I pray that He gives me the courage to make the final decision
I pray that tomorrow’s sun will be brighter than today’s
I pray that with every minute that passes by, I am getting closer to my final destination
I pray that every relationship in my life is as solid as a rock
I pray that ill find someone who loves me enough to be with me till I breathe my last breath.
I pray that He will allow me to find Him before I do more injustice to myself
I pray that I won’t have to be praying for all these forever.
